Vegan Wilted Lettuce

 

VEGAN WILTED LETTUCE SALAD 

2-3 heads leaf lettuce
salt and pepper, to taste
1/4 to 1/2 cup vinegar
1/4 to 1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon to 1/4 cup sugar
3 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 cup finely chopped onions

Clean and dry lettuce leaves and cut off the white parts and any bad spots. Then chop leaves and place into a large bowl.

Mix together vinegar, water and sugar.

In a frying pan, heat the olive oil over medium high and add the onions. Let onions begin to crisp.

While the onions are crisping, sprinkle salt and pepper to taste onto the lettuce and toss.

When the onions are ready, pour in the vinegar mixture and stir together in the frying pan.

Bring to a boil, then remove from heat. Pour liquid over the lettuce and toss.
